A little stray kitten was spotted zigzagging across a busy road, crying out in panic. Desperate and scared, she ran in all directions trying to avoid oncoming cars. Concerned residents nearby heard her cries and quickly came together for a rescue. “Alone without her mother, she was terrified and confused,” shared Chatons Orphelins Montreal. “Several people jumped into action to save her.”
When they finally located the kitten, she was hiding underneath a parked vehicle, too frightened to move or come out.

The rescuers surrounded the car and patiently lay on the ground, trying to coax the kitten out with food. Within seconds, the smell caught her attention and she ran toward the food. Though still trembling, her hunger was stronger than her fear. As soon as she was close enough, one rescuer gently grabbed her, securing her safely despite her frantic struggle.

“Luckily, she couldn’t escape again and was finally brought to safety,” rescuers recalled. The kitten, later named Claudie, was weak, thin, and starving. She devoured every bit of food offered and soon fell asleep with a full belly, safe for the first time in days.

Claudie was taken in by Chatons Orphelins Montreal, where she received medical attention, treatment for fleas, and proper nutrition. At only two months old, she weighed less than one pound and had a long road to recovery ahead. Her foster family made sure she was comfortable and surrounded with care.

As she began to trust her foster mom, Claudie slowly came out of her shell. Gentle cuddles, soft blankets, and regular meals made her realize she was finally safe. She began to purr, blink lovingly, and show affection to her caregivers. Within just a few days, her personality began to shine through.

After several weeks of care, Claudie began to gain weight and energy. Her confidence grew, and she became a playful, mischievous kitten. “She loves following her humans everywhere, always curious about what they’re doing. She’s full of energy and can turn anything into a toy,” her foster mom shared.

Claudie became known for her strong personality and “diva” attitude. She loves attention, often meowing when ignored, and prefers sleeping close to her humans—sometimes even on their faces! In the mornings, she wakes them up with soft nose licks, a sign of her deep trust and love.

Now, Claudie is a happy, confident young cat who purrs loudly every time she’s petted. She loves playing with her favorite toys, exploring her home, and watching the world through the window. She insists on being near her humans and expresses her opinions proudly with her adorable meows.
