The story began when Heidi Shoemaker, founder of the rescue, brought in a heavily pregnant cat who had been hiding in a noisy animal shelter. Within days of arriving in foster care, the cat went into labor in peace and safety. “She got here just in time,” Heidi said. “I’m so thankful I was able to get those fleas off her before the babies were born.”

The mother cat, Eden, gave birth to three healthy kittens — two with adorable cow-like markings and one solid black. Away from the stress of the shelter, Eden could finally relax as her kittens nursed peacefully. The cozy environment and Heidi’s gentle care helped the family grow strong.
